AFTERCARE

Gemstones

Due to the organic nature of gemstones,  most websites will tell you to remove all jewellery before sport, bathing, sleep and any manual activity.   This is to keep it from undue harm or wear and tear and to avoid contact with the various chemicals in our modern world, thus ensuring it lasts as long as possible.

Although this does make complete sense, I personally like to wear mine all the time, and do so.   This will however probably slightly shorten the life  of something like a fine gemstone bracelet, and possibly risk loosing the odd stone or two over time.

Silver

Silver is a wonderful and beautiful precious metal but it is subject to tarnishing (oxidising, just by being exposed to air) over long periods of time, or under specific conditions.  In this case it darkens slightly.  This can be exacerbated by swimming in chlorinated pools, contact with various chemicals, particularly bleach based, but also some perfumes and cosmetics.  It also doesn’t like too much direct sunlight.

So basically avoid these where you can, use the enclosed polish cloth as and when  and keep it in a box when not wearing it.  This also applies for Gold Filled jewellery.

REPAIRS

If your jewellery has broken due to general wear and tear I am happy to repair the item for a small cost.

This includes restringing and revamping any of my own pieces.

Prices may vary from £8-£15 depending on the level or repair needed and materials used.

Get in touch to discuss the details of any repair via email.
